Technical Assistant – Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Cambridge MIT)

The Department of Biological Engineering at MIT seeks a highly motivated candidate to participate in fast moving research projects designed to map out transcriptional regulation in mammalian cells (see http://fraenkel.mit.edu for more details). Will use cutting edge techniques such as transcriptional profiling and genome-wide chromatin immunoprecipitation assays as well as many standard biological techniques including PCR, Western-blotting, electrophoresis and handling mice.

You will have the chance to work as an individual and as part of an excellent team on a variety of projects, and also to manage the day to day operation of the lab.

Candidates must demonstrate excellent problem solving and organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and an in depth understanding of their current area of research. Prior experience with related techniques, especially micro arrays and mouse handling is desirable but not required.
