Title: Sr. Product Manager
Location: Bay Area, CA
Total Compensation: $140,000 (Includes base salary and bonus)

Our client is a leader in Life Science research products with global sales exceeding $1.5 billion annually. We are looking for an experienced product manager in the Bay Area to lead the Gene Expression platform product lines.
Skills and Experience:
- BS/BA in Life Science required with working knowledge of Molecular Biology (MS or PhD desired)
- 5+ years related experience or equivalent in biotech sales, marketing or lab environment required
- Knowledge of cellular biology, stem cell research and technologies/markets desired
- Must have a professional manner, and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams
- Ability to work effectively on teams by working toward consensus but also highlighting important issues and findings
- Requires demonstrated planning/organizational skills
- Executes sound judgment, analyzes issues, thinks strategically, creatively, and uses innovative ideas
- Demonstrates exceptional problem solving, decision-making, conflict management, change management and negotiating skills
- Exceptional public speaking skills needed to represent corporation at external meetings, conferences and organizations
- Able to present high level information for multiple audiences, including scientist, executives, and laymen
- Experience organizing and communicating technical information and training materials that meet customer and sales person’s needs
- Experience defining, establishing and managing collaborations with researchers
- Travel up to 25%, both domestically and internationally
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Gene Expression platform product lines, which include transfection
- Direct the development of market requirements for specific product(s) or product line(s)
- Involvement in the development of business plans and product positioning in the market place, conducting market research and monitoring competitive activity
- Development of effective relationships with R&D and manufacturing groups to develop new products or to enhance existing products or product lines
- Act as an effective technical advisor/consultant for specific assigned products and cooperate with selling divisions to support tactical marketing plans, sales strategies and training programs
- Employ experience and knowledge to improve processes in areas of direct and indirect responsibility
- Measure business performance against expectations, report on results, and adjusts strategies and tactics to accomplish business goals
- Establish relationships and/or collaborations within key industry leadership sectors
- Travel worldwide to obtain direct knowledge of internal and external opportunities and challenges
