Scientific Project Manager, 2009-07-SO (LaJolla, CA)

Join a dedicated team of scientists working to develop and apply high-throughput technologies to enable predictive medicine.
Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate next-gen sequencing projects, including:
-Evaluating requirements and helping to design and specify projects.
-Managing samples and ensuring quality standards.
-Delivering data and coordinating analysis.
-Providing support on technical, scientific and service related matters.
-Tracking data to ensure timely follow-up and customer satisfaction.
Carry out next-gen sequencing including developing and implementing new applications and process improvements.
Qualifications:
At least 1 year of experience with next-generation sequencing and project management.
PhD or Masters Degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related field with good current knowledge of genomics or equivalent experience.
Experience in molecular biology techniques including RNA and DNA purification, PCR, and enzymology.
Basic bioinformatics experience including familiarity with Unix / Linux is desirable.
Must be meticulous and detail-oriented, and have excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
