Research Technician/Analyst (Duke University Medical Center)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated new member for our research team. The successful applicant will have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in biology or related field. In addition, previous exposure to and experience in a lab setting is required. Depending on ability and experience duties performed may include (but are not limited to):

1. experimental tasks – including molecular biology (PCR and cloning), biochemistry (protein purification, immunoprecipitation), cell culture, microscopy.

2. lab management – maintaining stock solutions and general lab supplies, maintaining and cleaning lab equipment, arranging repairs.

3. mouse husbandry – general maintenance, colony supervision.

4. supervising undergraduate students.

5. computer skills.

We are a small and interactive group and are looking for someone with excellent communication and organization skills.
