Research Technician II (Sorrento Valley)

InVivoScribe Technologies, a rapidly growing and profitable biotechnology company, has an immediate opening for a full-time Research Technician II. Candidates must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a strong work ethic, a high attention to detail, computer literacy, and the ability to work independently following verbal instructions and SOPs.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Carry out experiments including, but not limited to PCR reactions, Q-PCR reactions, agarose/polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, TOPO cloning, bacterial cell culture,, mammalian cell culture, enzyme assay, and protein purification on an FPLC/HPLC using a variety of purification resins.
Maintain a laboratory notebook that records all aspects of experimental design and results.
Ensure that laboratory reagents are properly stocked and that laboratory bench is clean and clutter-free.
Requirements:
Requires knowledge and skills normally acquired through the successful completion of a BS Degree in a scientific discipline.
Requires over 2 years of laboratory experience in a molecular biology or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to consistently meet critical deadlines.
Attention to detail.
Ability to follow Standardized Operating Procedures (SOPs).
The ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to train employees.
The ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
Ability to perform some tasks that are monotonous & physically demanding in lab environment.
Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds.
Some activities will take place at a desk and on a computer.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities Preferred, but not Required:
Knowledge of graphics software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
Inventory maintenance experience.
Experience with Adobe software.
