Research Technician II position (Durham)

Candidate will be responsible for maintaining several mouse lines; this will include setting up matings, keeping track of offspring and genotyping each mouse. In addition, candidate will have opportunity to participate in the maintenance a small zebrafish colony. Candidate will also work closely with post-doctorial fellows to coordinate mouse work and to assist with other laboratory work. Candidate will be responsible for part of the lab maintenance, assisting with ordering supplies, making solutions, receiving and shipping supplies and samples. There will be opportunity for growth, e.g. being charged with executing experiments, data analysis, etc. Mouse experience preferred but not required. Also experience with molecular biology and biochemical techniques such as PCR, DNA preparation, gel electrophoresis and HPLC analysis will be an advantage.
