Research Technician II (palo alto)

The Howard Hughes Medical Institute, a leading scientific and philanthropic organization devoted to biomedical research and science education, is seeking a Research Technician II for one of its laboratories at Stanford University.

Principal Responsibilities include:

•Maintain and organize lab mouse colonies, including genotyping

•Maintain the mouse database of mating records

•Order mice and coordinate shipment to and from other Institutions

•Maintain safe and clean lab environment, interphase with inspectors and help with animal protocal renewal

•Order reagents and make common solutions for the mouse group

Requirements:

•Bachelor’s degree in life science

•Minimum 2 years experience in a life sciences laboratory

•Generally experienced in molecular biology (PCR, DNA isolation)

•Excellent analytical, organizational, communication and computer skills

•Able to work independently and as a team member

•Experience working with mice is helpful although not essential
