Research Tech II/Analyst I in Genetics (Durham)

A position in molecular genetics lab at Duke University Medical Center

is available immediately. The laboratory is studying the molecular and

neural basis of chemosensory signal transduction and behavior in the

insect model system Drosophila.

The applicant should have B.S. or M.S. in biology or biochemistry,

with a keen interest in genetics and neurobiology. At least two, preferably more years

of research experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics is

necessary and work experience with Drosophila is desired but not

required.

The successful applicant will work on various project at the outset,

but is expected to carry on with his/her own research project within a

year.

Methods and Techniques used: PCR, Isolation of genomic DNA, plasmid DNA and RNA, Molecular Cloning, Setting up genetic crosses of Drosophila, Dissecting tissues, Antibody staining and RNA in situ hybridization, Behavioral Analyses of adult Drosophila.
