Research Associate/Assistant – Bacterial Molecular Biology – Davis (fairfield / vacaville)

The Research Associate/Assistant – E. coli Molecular Biology will be responsible for constructing strains of Escherichia coli for the production of desirable chemicals. The successful candidate will have experience with DNA and RNA isolation, nucleic acid hybridization, PCR, vector construction, and transformation methods. Additional experience with phage transduction, chromosomal integration and gene deletions is highly desirable. Mainstream computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) are essential and familiarity with standard molecular biology software tools is advantageous. In addition to high technical skill in molecular biology, this position requires exceptional data reporting, organizational skills and the ability to function effectively within a dynamic team. A B.S. in Biotechnology, Genetics, Microbiology or related field and at least 2 years experience is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
