Research Associate
TrovaGene Inc. is focused on the development of DNA and RNA-based tests using Transrenal DNA (Tr-DNA) or RNA (Tr-RNA) and on products for personalized medicine to improve patient care. Its patented technology uses safe and simple urine collection and can be applied to a broad range of applications, including tumor detection and monitoring and infectious disease detection.
Description: TrovaGene currently has an immediate opportunity for assay development and validation for GLP and Clinical use. This person will develop, qualify and validate real-time PCR and multiplex PCR assays to measure RNA or DNA, which will be used in clinical and pre-clinical quantitative and qualitative biomarker and companion diagnostic studies.
S/he will independently perform assay design, establish assay development and validation protocols and carry out experiments,
be responsible for accurate testing, documentation of results, and evaluation and analysis of data,
research and implement improvements to existing methods and procedures; offer novel approaches and troubleshooting to solve complex technical problems,
train staff and collaborators in method and testing technologies,
reliably write, validate, and execute well defined SOPs,
interact with clients to understand the project scope and prepare complex and detailed reports,
complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
BA with 12 years PCR/molecular biology related industrial experience, MA with 9 years experience.
Familiar with DNA/RNA purification methods.
Detailed knowledge of PCR assay development and validation at clinical level and a minimum of 3 years proven experience in PCR assay development and validation required.
Familiarity with regulatory guidance on analytical testing and clinical molecular biology lab working experience is highly desired.
Experience with assay development using statistical design of experiments (DOE) is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to understand and apply complex technical concepts to assay development methodology; detail oriented and strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently, within prescribed guidelines, and as a team member; ability to follow detailed directions in a laboratory environment.
