Description:
Inovio Biomedical Corporation is a San Diego based biomedical company whose technology platform is based on medical devices that use electroporation therapy to enhance the delivery of drugs and genes into cells. We are developing and seeking to commercialize medical therapies to address a number of diseases with critical unmet treatment needs using electroporation therapy. We have also been developing devices for the delivery of DNA for vaccinations and gene therapy. To our knowledge, we were the first company to initiate a clinical study involving the use of electroporation to deliver therapeutic genes in human patients. The simplicity and efficiency of Inovio’s electroporation technology is expected to significantly affect the way gene delivery, DNA vaccination and drug delivery is performed in the future. This position includes responsibility for conducting a wide range of in vivo and in vitro techniques including animal handling and blood and tissue sample collection, basic molecular manipulation and immunological assays.
Requirements:
A BS or Masters in biological sciences, preferably in Immunology, Cell or Molecular Biology or Bioengineering and a minimum of 1 year of research experience within an academic or industry lab would be preferred. The candidate should be able to work independently, master a spectrum of techniques in both basic cell or molecular biology and immunology, including cell cultures, DNA mini- or maxi-prep and PCR, and ELISA. The candidate will liaise and work along side the engineering department offering documentation support. This may constitute up to 50 % of the allocated time.
Experience in animal handling is a plus but a willingness to work with animals is essential. Excellent organizational and communication skills are also essential.

X Technical help of animal experiments to Scientists.
X Document support for the engineering and manufacturing departments.
X Documenting duties and projects in lab notebook; keep accurate and complete records.
X ELISA assay.
X DNA prep and DNA agarose gel, PCR.
X Blood and tissue sampling.
X Ordering and receiving supplies.
X Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures.
X Willing to drive between different work locations within San Diego.
X Other duties as assigned.
