RESEARCH ASSISTANT (SYNDEXA Pharmaceuticals) (CAMBRIDGE)

SYNDEXA Pharmaceuticals is seeking a RESEARCH ASSISTANT. This is an exciting opportunity for a scientist to participate in the discovery of novel medicines for the treatment of metabolic diseases. The successful candidate will assist in the profiling of lead molecules using a variety of biochemical and cell-based assays; assist with calculation as part of data analysis; attend team meetings for experimental planning; additional duties include general lab management and ordering of supplies; continue to improve technical knowledge in a wide array of molecular and biochemical techniques.
REQUIREMENTS: A bachelor or master degree in biology or related field. Must be able to handle a variety of tasks, shift priorities simultaneously, and effectively solve problems. Need to be able to work with limited supervision as part of a highly motivated team in a fast-paced environment. Experience in cell-based and in vitro high throughput screening technologies is considered a plus. The position requires strong commitment to high quality work with keen attention to detail, a good understanding of basic molecular biology techniques such as PCR, cloning, plasmid DNA preparation and tissue culture experience.
