Research Assistant III/Lab Manager (Boston, MA)

We seek a conscientious and diligent research technician to perform a wide range of bench-level research involving modern molecular genetics. Specific research includes vector production, PCR amplification and the testing of candidate promoters. In addition, we are also looking for skills related to management of a mouse colony as well as caring for axolotls and cave fish. This position will also have some responsibility for ordering laboratory supplies on a timely basis. This position will be responsible for providing basic technique training to new arrivals as well as some standard lab administration and trouble-shooting responsibilities. The successful candidate is expected to participate in weekly group meetings. Offers of employment are conditional upon the satisfactory completion of a pre-placement medical evaluation and background check.

Basic qualifications: Applicants should have a BS or BA degree in a basic science with two or more years experience with standard/advanced molecular biology techniques. Additional requirements: Prefer individuals who have had previous animal experience. Must have excellent organizational, communication, computer and interpersonal skills.
