SALARY: $31,000- $36,000 annually (DOE) + benefits, M-F, 8am-5pm

Position Summary
The Breathmobile î Patient Services Representative/Driver (Bilingual) is responsible for: 1) Driving and maintaining the Breathmobile, which is a 33′ converted Winnebago RV mobile asthma diagnostic, treatment and education clinic, 2) Providing patient services, and 3) Customer service.
Responsibilities
Vehicle Operation
* Safely operate the Breathmobile ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâî over a prescribed route to schools, community centers, and other locations throughout Oakland and parts of Alameda County.
* Maintain vehicle to ensure it is in proper working order including: checking oil, bulbs, lights, tires, cleaning/washing van interior and exterior, scheduling routine maintenance, oil changes, etc.
* Fill out daily reports concerning the running condition of the vehicle, turns in reports once weekly, noting any need for repairs and/or servicing. Notify Executive/Project Director immediately of any and all maintenance and or repair needs.
* Responsible for reporting any unsafe conditions, accidents, and unusual incidents immediately to the Executive Director. Follow agency procedures in reporting any incident or injury.
* Responsible for personal safety, asking for help as needed, performing duties that do not put his/herself at a safety risk.
Patient Services
* Responsible for patient registration and insurance verification
* Assist patients with completing asthma health surveys and other related documents,
* Assist with MediCal eligibility.
* Work with Breathmobile staff while Breathmobile is in the community.
* Help participants into and out of Breathmobile, as needed.
* Responsible for maintaining safe work environment, and safe use of equipment
Administrative
* Complete daily, weekly, and monthly operation logs and reports.
* Attend meetings, as requested
* May provide CPR and First Aid, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
* REQUIRED: Bilingual in English and Spanish required. Must have high proficiency in written and spoken Spanish.
* REQUIRED: AA Degree or higher
* REQUIRED: Class C California Drivers License with a safe driving record and experience in driving a recreational vehicle, commercial truck or bus, with a minimum of five years driving experience
* Strong computer proficiency with knowledge of computer software programs, especially Outlook and Microsoft Word.
* Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
* Some health knowledge, specifically with asthma highly desirable.
* CPR and First Aid certifications highly desirable.
* Respect for and ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
* Ability to pass background and fingerprint check (e.g. LiveScan).
* Always present a positive image of the Prescott-Joseph Center.
Highly Desirable (not required):
* Certified Medical Assistant (M.A.) with 2 years experience in a medical office or healthcare setting.
* Previous experience with computerized patient registration and pre-billing.
* Experience with MediCal billing.
* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
