Night Audit for Hotel (santa cruz)

The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Santa Cruz East is seeking a full-time or part time Night Audit to join our team. We support a culture of education, eco-friendly business practices and the ideal that family is an extremely powerful tool.
The Night Audit performs audit functions for the hotel while monitoring front desk. The Night Auditor is the nightly accountant of the days revenue and as such, the position demands the ability to utilize all aspects of mathematics and accounting to balance the hotels income.
We are looking for ideal candidates to be the face of our property. This person will be an individual creative enough to host our lobby area and to work as part of our front office team to meet our guests needs; this individual must be able to multi-task and be willing to go above and beyond to exceed our guests expectations.
This fun-loving person must possess a positive attitude, understand how to read people and be very outgoing, energetic, have a great personality and wonderful smile.
The shift hours are from 11pm 7am, 2-5 nights a week. Work shifts may include weekend work, holidays and may vary. This position has a starting salary of $10-13/hr depending on experience plus benefits. Our selection will be someone who can grow with the position, who is a self starter and who understands that persistence prevails.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reconcile rooms and food & beverage revenue
Audit the hotels daily cumulative income by running daily reports for rooms, food & beverage, etc.
Answer and direct phone calls.
Transmit reports regarding financial information.
Check guests in and out of hotel.
Make and take reservations
Respond to guest & merchant requests.
Monitor all cash handling procedures.
Perform guest service functions.
General hotel security.
Setting up breakfast buffet.
List of commission services
Handel PCR Reimbursements and Submission of PCR points
REQUIREMENTS
2+ years previous hotel experience is required.
1+ year previous night audit experience is required.
Candidate must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for an 8 hour shift.
Candidate must be able to communicate effectively in English in person and on the phone.
Candidate must be 18 years of age or older.
Candidate must have proof of eligibility to work in the United States, and be able to pass a drug test & background check.
The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Santa Cruz East is owned and operated by BPR Properties of Palo Alto. BPR Properties is a small family owned and oriented company focusing its efforts in Northern California in the Limited and Full Service environments of the Hotel industry.
