Desired research experience includes:
Ph.D. in Systems Biology, Molecular Biology
Post-doctoral/industrial experience in one or more areas:
Expertise on genomics – Gene expression in prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells – Familiarity with Affymetrix gene chips
Genes correlated to disease states
Isolation of mRNA – PAGE (1D and 2D) – Western/Northern blots
DNA/RNA purification DNA sequencing – Reverse genetics
Protein detection – Protein microarrays
Monoclonal microarrays – Development of standard operating procedures (SOP)
Experience with flow cytometry (cell sorting) – PCR & gene sequencing – Familiarity with transcriptomes and proteomes
Experience in metaobolomics – Expertise in bioinformatics and statistical methods
Ability and familiarity with multivariant data analysis (MVA) with genomics, proteomics, and metabolomic data — to reveal “hidden genes”
Ability to utilize data to unravel new metabolic pathway
General Lab Duties include:
Maintaining accurate data notebooks
General lab organization
Diplomatic and organizational ability to coordinate a Systems Biology
approach with multiple laboratories
Job Description:
Creative scientists are sought for a highly visible position. These
government laboratory positions will be responsible for research
strategies, coordinating, and interfacing with all areas of infectious
diseases. This approach will bring a novel approach to the prognosis,
diagnosis, and treatment of infectious diseases. A comprehensive
understanding of genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics is essential.
General skills:
Microsoft Office and statistical software (e.g. SPSS) proficiencies
Excellent interpersonal skills
Fluency in English
Presentation of research data
Excellent oral and written communication
Excellent organizational skills
Desire for hands-on independent laboratory research
Ability to creatively design experiments, and accurately analyze data
by modern statistical method
Other job requirements:
Will be required to pass physical examination, behavioral evaluation,
and drug screening.
Candidates must participate in vaccination programs.
Additional Job information:
Compensation: $75,000.00 – $150,000.00 (Salary)
Experience Required: Mid (6 to 10 years)
Relocation Assistance: Depends on Candidate
