My name is Jason Babbitt. I represent The Fountain Group, a National staffing firm. We have a Contract opportunity with a prominent client for a Molecular Biologist in Durham, NC.
Job Description:
Growing laboratory needs molecular biologist to perform experiments according to applicable SOPs and business/biological deadlines.
Acquires and maintains operational knowledge of molecular and biochemical analysis techniques, and where appropriate enlarges expertise.
Duly records the results of technical experiments according to data collection guidelines and policies. Provides back-up for technical staff.
Complies with all quality standards applicable to the assigned experiments.
Records time spent on projects according to company guidelines.
Responsible for laboratory equipment, including maintenance.
Education:
B.S. Molecular Biology, Crop Science, Genetics, or similar field.
Level of experience preferred- 6 months to 3 years hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques including, but not limited to: sample organization, DNA isolation, DNA quantification, PCR, gel or capillary electrophoresis, spectrophotometry, and crop plant maintenance.
Experience with liquid-handling automation is preferred but not required.
Proficient at MS Office, especially Word and Excel.
Attention to detail, self-organized, and good planning skills.
