Microarray Technician – 6-month contract (Cambridge, MA Whitehead Institutute (MIT Affiliate))

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY
Successful candidate will work in a state-of-the-art Genomics Core facility providing service and support for microarray, sequencing, Real-Time PCR and a variety of other technology platforms.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES
- Receiving samples from customers and logging submission information into a database
- Preparing and processing samples according to established protocols.
- Delivering data to customers and/or loading into databases
- Preparing invoices for services li>
- General lab maintenance
- Other tasks as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BS in molecular biology or similar
- Some experience working in a molecular biology lab li>
- Knowledge of various scientific databases required.
- Experience with genomic technology platforms like Affymetrix, Agilent or Illumina a plus.
- Some computer proficiency
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work in a service oriented core facility.
Willing to consider flexible hours or part-time work. This position is currently temporary for approximately 6 months but could become permanent. This position will be eligible for health insurance.
