Job description:

Follow established and novel procedures and perform various analyses on body fluids using complex instrumentation and/or standard manual methods. Possess and maintain a professional level of knowledge necessary to assure accurate test results. Perform onsite Micro-ELISA’s, advanced coagulation testing, genetic PCR analysis, and other miscellaneous tests.

Participate in proficiency testing and regulatory compliance as necessary. Verify results according to established protocols and enter results into data reduction computer models. Perform and document routine and preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment and instrumentation to assure reliable and accurate test results reporting. Train others in performing maintenance procedures at company training labs and will be ultimately responsible for training new analytical scientific staff. Perform and document quality control testing. Assist managers in establishing quality control assay values and standard deviation according to established protocols.

Requirements:

This position requires a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in a Life Science and 0-2 years of Immunoassay, Genetics, Hematology or related lab experience. A Bachelors Degree in a related field with certification in one of the various Clinical Laboratory disciplines and part time work experience in a medical laboratory is also acceptable. The candidate must have interpersonal skills necessary to interact professionally with peers, physicians, nurses, phlebotomists, and clinical scientists. Occasionally company paid travel may be required. Must be well organized, able to work independently, and able to handle busy environments through multitasking with minimal or no supervision while performing high complexity laboratory tests. Analyze, record and report test results, conduct quality control when appropriate and maintain instrumentation in working order.
