Biochemist in Plant Analysis (Medford, MA/ Storrs, CT)

Agrivida is a cutting edge biofuels company developing traits and technology for agriculture in the areas of bioenergy and renewable resources. We continue to build a team of experienced plant scientists, molecular biologists, biochemists, and chemical engineers with varied backgrounds and experiences to play key roles in building the foundation of our plant biotechnology and bioprocessing capabilities. We are currently seeking excellent candidates to join our plant analysis team in Medford, MA and Storrs, CT. Qualified persons will have significant experience in the following techniques:
o Molecular analysis of transgenic plants (DNA isolation, PCR, Southern analysis, Western analysis); and
o Developing and performing assays for plant expressed proteins (activity assays) and cell wall hydrolysates (sugar analysis, chemical analysis).
Applicants should have a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in biochemistry or a related field with a minimum 2 years experience in plant research. Must be willing to relocate and be able to work well in a team environment. An enthusiasm for working in the laboratory and with a team is necessary.
